CAMPS
Structural recovery and architecture of mining camps
Most mining camps in Chile, due to their intense use and the extreme conditions (strong winds, high UV radiation, snow storms and constant temperature changes) to which they are exposed, deteriorate and lose the characteristics they had when they were originally installed.
The proper remodeling and maintenance of these camps allows their useful life to be extended and offers the people who live there the continuity of a comfortable and pleasant place that allows them to rest and have fun in their free time at work. As a company we have focused on the Remodeling and Maintenance of Mining Camps in Chile, carrying out work at Minera Los Bronces (Anglo American), Minera Óxidos Encuentro (AMSA) and Minera Escondida (BHP Billiton), such as:
- Remodeling of Casinos/Dining Rooms with new materials and colors that change an old dining area into a new, more dignified and welcoming space for eating.
- Transformation of old recreational areas into new Recreation spaces (such as Game Rooms, Pub/Karaoke, Cinemas and Gyms).
- Remodeling of old dormitory buildings into new buildings with brighter rooms and hallways, along with new bathrooms for both direct and supervisory staff.
- Sealing and repairing the roofs of the buildings. As the roofs of buildings are subjected to extreme conditions of UV radiation, rain, snow and wind, they deteriorate over the years and as a result, leaks, deterioration of the facilities and situations of inconvenience for users occur.
- Review, repair and replacement of sewage and drinking water lines in buildings and urbanizations. Many of the existing lines, both inside and outside buildings, are damaged, cracked, constricted and deteriorated – a product of intense use and poor water quality – so they require evaluation, maintenance and repair if necessary.
- Review and maintenance of fire detection systems. Unfortunately, detection systems (intelligent or standard) are often poorly operated, causing significant damage that prevents them from functioning correctly, such as from being activated in the event of an accident. At ASAP we have specialized personnel for this critical task that guarantees the standardization and operation of these systems.

Modular construction offers many advantages. One of the most relevant is the possibility of transferring buildings or facilities – once used – to another project or area. The extensive knowledge we have in modular construction allows us to offer services where we transfer 100% of the reused facilities and in turn, also allows us to offer the assembly of facilities with new modular units. This can range from an isolated facility (office, warehouse, building) to moving an entire camp. This work includes the following stages.

Assembly phase Reused or New:
- Layout and placement of foundations according to the layout provided by the client.
- Assembly of all recovered or new modular units.
- Interior and exterior finishes of modular buildings (with supply of necessary materials).
Disassembly phase:
- Disassembly of the building.
- Total removal of the modular units and their foundations.
- Total removal of the electrical posting.
- Removal of the electrical generation plant and its additional components (hazardous substance cage, fuel tank and office).

- Repair of vinyl floors in rooms and hallways.
- Installation of American ceiling in all hallways of residential buildings.
